Fragility
The Second Comic
Fragility is a funny term to me.
I remember my dad telling me, when we had our first child, "children are not made out of glass". This was supposed to be an encouragement to actually play with my kids, to roughhouse (not with a new baby, of course), to run around crazy, to play like a kid with them.
It was frankly the best advice I ever received on parenting. And I plan on sharing that with my own kids make me a Grandpappy.
So why did I decide to depict his wise words with Avery Person (that's our average protagonist) murdering Avery Person’s shattered reflection? Is a statement on the average person’s (ahem, Avery Person’s) current mental state or fragility or lackthereof?
No, that’s probably related to other stuff.
Author Insight
I still think fragility is a funny term. One which is bandied about the internet in a typically haphazard fashion.
So…I will try to explain.
I was going for Avery Person (did YOU know that’s the name of my protagonist?) looking at their reflection in the mirror and remarking to themselves, “so very fragile.”
The mirror then cracks, and either Avery stabs the reflection, or vice versa.
Therapy? ME? But why?
